Just a few thoughts about the new trends in jewelry. More and more, fashion is becoming something defined by each person. When you think of the 70's, you get hideous images of polyester, plaid, etc. As time has gone on, individual style is more prevelent and accessible. Jewelry, too, is more personal than ever. We are not hampered by the notion that if it isn't gold and diamonds, it's not precious. Nowadays, we have jewelry made from anything that looks artistic and is wearable. That is why there are many and varied jewelry artists on the market today and many venues that support their passion.
For Becky and me, jewelry has become part of our artistic expression. Items like a piece of string, some organic beads, ceramic, copper that has been reclaimed, or a strategicaly placed pearl have become our expression of jewelry. It is wearable art.
